Regional Meets Empty Regional Meets

Post by A8_Tony Sat Oct 16, 2010 2:16 pm

Well guys, the main show season has now drawn to a close with the passing of Audi Driver International day again. So now thoughts move to how we can start getting together regionally to drool over our '8's and talk borrocks too Smile

Does anyone have anywhere they'd like to hold a meet? Does anyone fancy arranging one locally?

I know that we have a good membership concentration around the Leeds/Bradford/York area, so a reasonable meet could be had, but what days do people have for a preference?

Let us know your thoughts. Remember, the club is here to provide a service to you

Hi Tony
Ive sourced some venues around the Bristol Area for SW/South Meets and intend to hold a meet every couple of months alternating between Bristol (Sunday afternoons) and Swindon/Newbury/Reading areas (Weds Evenings) as some guys prefer midweek too. More details to follow shortly on the first which may well be a pre xmas meet on sun 12th Dec if anyone is keen then we might have some kind of meal etc Smile I'll let you know when the date is confirmed

Nice one Neil,

These meets are a great way to get to know each other, and a great way to get to understand a little more about the cars we all know and love Smile

Let me know when you've got dates confirmed, and if I can I'll make a "business trip" down that way Happy

It would be good to have a Yorkshire meet (with of course not just peeps from Yorkshire there.....)

Not sure of the best place to gather though, but there are plenty of good roads and great views also.

Anybody have any ideas??

The last Yorkshire meets I arranged, we all met up on the Harrogate side of York. This gave us a great opportunity to leap onto some great roads pretty much anywhere in the region.

If you look at the owners map, the best place to meet would likely be around the A1/A64/M62 area, but I'm not knowledgeable of the roads around that area....tend to stick on the main ones really, but have done a trip from the A1 across to Selby and that area, and seemed to be quite nice around there.

Do we have a preference for times/days?

For me it would be best on Saturday but could possibly do Sunday's....

During the week not too good as work and dark nights get in the way pale

I should imagine that for some, the run up to Xmas might mean a nice drive out and around Yorkshire could be a cost they can do without.......

That's the biggest problem right now......the lead up to the festive season is always a crap one as funds have to go towards presents, booze & other related stuff
