It is possible to install xenon post
Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to install xenon headlights on a non D2 A8 comes standard.
If it can, it is very complicated? has a high cost? worth it?
Thanks

Its possible yes. I've got standard projector lamps on mine but I've bought second xenon versions off a later model to swap them out. The wiring I'm told is plug and play and on the xenons they come with the ballast already attached at the bottom of the light. You will have to make sure your head lights are adjusted correctly and down a bit though as xenons normally come with sensors to detect the level of the car and you will just have the normal 0-1-2-3 level adjustment instead of auto levelling. I think I paid about £250 for them as a pair but they are a complete headlight and indicator unit

Thanks for the info.
What you did was buy a xenon kit, right? In my case, the absence of automatic control I do not care what I do like is that it was the original xenon.
Installation is plug and play? can you explain a little better?
Thank you again.

No what I bought was a pair of second hand Xenon complete headlight units that were fitted to later versions of the A8/S8 so Im just swapping the whole unit. It just makes it easier and means it looks OEM and that I dont have to worry about where to put the ballasts. You can get kits to upgrade for sure - people have done their main head lights and also fog lamps lower down

I'm told by A8 parts that its just plug and play. The only difference will be that I dont have auto headlight levelling unless i install all the sensors etc elsewhere on the car but the same would apply there if you were just converting to HID's etc

Re: It is possible to install xenon post
I bought a kit from DDM Tuning and installed it on a 97 DS2. It is just plug and play so to speak and took less than 10 minutes per side. If you buy a kit from them it has a lifetime warranty on both the ballast and bulbs.

As of next year retro fit Xenons will be an MOT fail.
Not 100% on how this will be tested yet but an easy spot is that factory Xenons self level.
